Dennis James was born on May 31, 1969, in Heidelberg, Germany. As a child in Germany, he was passionate about soccer and dedicated a significant amount of time to the sport. There were moments when the future bodybuilder considered pursuing a career solely in soccer, and the desire to become a professional soccer player always stayed with him.
However, it happened that one day he ended up in a gym, where he really enjoyed spending time. The huge guys and heavy weights impressed the young Dennis so much that he soon left soccer behind. Before long, he became seriously interested in bodybuilding and began training intensely. In one of his interviews, James mentioned that if he hadn’t been captivated by bodybuilding, he would undoubtedly have become a star in German soccer.

Bodybuilding
Dennis James made a rapid entry into the world of professional bodybuilding, reaching the stage of “Mr. Olympia” in just a few years—a feat that takes others decades. He first competed in “Mr. Olympia” in 2000, where he secured 11th place. Just three years later, he climbed to fourth place. Today, Dennis is considered one of the strongest bodybuilders in the world.
In the city of Pattaya, Thailand, Dennis owns his own gym, “Universe Gym,” where he can train to his heart’s content without any interruptions. His dedication and impressive physique have solidified his status as a top-tier bodybuilder globally.
Training
Dennis James has his own training secret, which he calls “split training.” The main principle of this concept is as follows: during one workout, only one muscle group can be thoroughly worked, so it is worth training twice a day. The workouts last about half an hour each. The first session should be held in the morning, and the second one later in the evening, perhaps after work. For example, when training arms, it is impossible to effectively train both biceps and triceps in a single session or in combination with other major muscle groups. This concept is suitable for all enthusiasts who want to increase their mass as quickly as possible. However, this training plan requires a specific selection of exercises—only simple movements performed in a rough power style using the “pyramid” method are suitable. Other sets should be temporarily forgotten. The main focus is on mass.

In 2009, Dennis demonstrated a triumphant march, taking first place at the Europa Super Show bodybuilding professional tournament in Dallas, Texas, immediately after his overall victory at the 2009 Tampa Pro.
