Is Sting Coming To The WWE?

Rumors and theories have been running up and down the internet of Sting coming to WWE ever since the first 2.21.11 promo shot at Monday Night Raw three weeks ago. Things started to get more dramatic when New York Daily News posted that Sting signed a one-year deal with the WWE.

However, nobody confirmed it and Dave Meltzer, owner of wrestlingobserver, said he did not hear anything about Sting coming to WWE. It was reported by Dave Meltzer that TNA was close to signing a contract with TNA, and WWE did not contact Sting once about Wrestlemania 27. But rest assure, Meltzer has been wrong about things a lot of times, so just because he says something doesn’t mean it’s true.

It seems a bit far-fetch that Vince McMahon wouldn’t want Sting in his company for one day because of his ego. If Sting came to WWE, Vince McMahon would’ve finally gotten the biggest star in North America NOT to be in Vince McMahon’s company. And you know if it happened, Vince McMahon would be eating it all up with a fork, spoon, knife, and a spork at once.

Back to the 2.21.11 promo: It is obvious Undertaker is coming that night. After all, he is advertised for the show, and he is shown in the latest promo inside the house. However, what a lot of people missed was when Undertaker was in the house, somebody was walking towards the house. Now this could’ve been just an error on WWE’s behalf. Movies make mistakes like this all the time. But if it wasn’t a mistake and was another person, it has to be Sting. Just look at his coat in the vignette for Starrcade 1997; it is exactly the same as the person walking towards the house.

In retrospect, Sting has no other place to go other than WWE. He’s done more than enough for TNA, and he has done more than enough in that company (plus TNA just couldn’t book him correctly during his entire time there; and all they had to do is copy the way he was booked in WCW during the late 90s). Sting could settle down for retirement, but it doesn’t seem as if he wants to. So why wouldn’t he want to go to WWE is the question. And its one I cannot answer right now, but I do believe that he is coming to WWE. It wouldn’t be the first time the WWE kept something secretly as possible.
