WWE Raw Results February 7, 2011: CM Punk vs. John Cena

The February 7 2011 Raw began with the return of Mr. McMahon, who had been in a storyline coma. McMahon congratulated the Packers on winning the Super Bowl and said WrestleMania 27 would supercede the Super Bowl. McMahon promised fans that next week they would meet the man who would host WrestleMania 27. Randy Orton came out to the ring just as McMahon finished speaking.

Orton addressed CM Punk, and said they were not even, and he’d only just gotten started. Orton said Punk had more to lose than Husky Harris, referring to when he’d punted Harris on the January 31 2011 Raw. Punk interrupted Orton. Punk agreed that it was not over between them. He showed footage from Unforgiven 2008, when Orton and his group Legacy had attacked Punk, who at the time was World Heavyweight Champion. Punk had been forced to forfeit the title that night.

Punk said Orton truly was a cold, callous individual. Punk said he had waited long to get his revenge, and as long as he and Orton were on the same show, Orton would never be WWE Champion again. Punk then said he would eliminate Orton now. He and the New Nexus went to the ring and attacked Orton. Orton made a brief comeback but Nexus soon overpowered him. Punk gave Orton the GTS and the group stood over him in triumph.

Mason Ryan vs. R-Truth

During the commercial break, the Raw GM announced via Michael Cole that individual Nexus members would face Elimination Chamber competitors. R-Truth took on Mason Ryan. Ryan dominated the match, while fans chanted “Milwaukee” because Truth had addressed them as “Green Bay.”

Truth tweaked his knee, and Ryan took advantage of the injury, continuously throwing Truth against the ropes. Ryan got Truth in a submission move and Truth tapped out, making Ryan the winner. He continued his attack on Truth after the match, so the referee reversed his decision, making Truth the winner by disqualification.

Backstage, Punk scolded Ryan for not winning the match, but then congratulated him. He told Nexus he wants them to injure people so that they’re not 100 percent at Elimination Chamber. David Otunga expressed discomfort about taking on Sheamus, but Punk assured him that he had a plan.

Tamina, Gail Kim and Eve vs. Bella Twins and Melina

Natalya Neidhart was on commentary during the match. The Bella Twins attacked Gail Kim. They double-clotheslined Gail and one Bella tagged in Melina. Melina continued to dominate the match until Gail clotheslined her and tagged in Eve, who dropkicked Melina and kicked her in the face. Eve hit Melina with a standing moonsault and went for a pin but a Bella broke it up. Tamina and Gail fought the Bellas as Eve hit Melina with a neckbreaker and pinned her for the win.

Michael McGillicutty vs. John Morrison

Morrison dominated the match with kicks and hits. McGillicutty stomped him and swung him into the turnbuckles. He continued on offense and attacked Morrison’s arm. Morrison fought back with hits and a clothesline. Morrison hit McGillicutty with the Flying Chuck followed by Starship Pain, and pinned him for the win. As Morrison headed backstage, CM Punk sprayed his eyes with an aerosol can, reminiscent of when The Model Rick Martel “blinded” Jake Roberts during their feud.

The Miz and Jerry Lawler

The Miz sarcastically congratulated Jerry Lawler on becoming number one contender the previous week. He invited Lawler to come into the ring. He asked Lawler if he knew why he’d wanted him to win. Lawler guessed it was because Miz would find him easiest to beat. Miz denied it and said it was because he and Lawler were alike. Miz claimed he was a modern-day Jerry Lawler.

Lawler said they both might have big mouths, but Lawler backs his words up. Lawler said he was an original. Miz agreed, saying Lawler was an original cheap shot taker. Lawler called Miz a sucker and said the fans agree with him.

Lawler said it was his dream to be WWE Champion and he wasn’t going to let that chance pass him by. Lawler said he would be going to WrestleMania. Lawler started an “awful” chant at Miz. Lawler pounded Miz and Alex Riley, but Ted DiBiase came out to attack him. Daniel Bryan rescued Lawler and tossed DiBiase out of the ring.

Ted DiBiase and The Miz vs. Daniel Bryan and Jerry Lawler

Cole announced that Miz and DiBiase would take on Bryan and Lawler. Bryan and DiBiase started the match, with DiBiase on the offensive. Bryan fought back with a knee to the gut. He kicked DiBiase repeatedly and went for a pin but DiBiase kicked out. Bryan dropkicked DiBiase and tagged in Lawler. Lawler punched DiBiase, who tagged in Miz. Lawler bodyslammed him but Miz tossed him out of the ring.

Bryan tagged in and clotheslined Miz. He went to the top rope but DiBiase pulled him down when the referee was distracted. Miz hit Bryan with a running clothesline and tagged in DiBiase, who briefly continued on offense then tagged Miz back in. Lawler and DiBiase tagged in, and Lawler backdropped DiBiase. He followed with a dropkick. Lawler DDTed him and went for a pin but Miz broke it up. Bryan and Miz fought on the outside, and Lawler hit DiBiase in the face. Lawler pinned DiBiase for the win.

David Otunga vs. Sheamus

Josh Matthews interrupted Sheamus’s entrance and reported comments from Mark Henry that Sheamus should be replaced with Henry in the Elimination Chamber. Sheamus said Henry was too fat for the Chamber and should shut his mouth. Before the match between Sheamus and David Otunga could start, Henry came out and attacked Sheamus, who fought back.

David Otunga tried to capitalize but Sheamus knocked him off the ropes. Henry gave Sheamus the World’s Strongest Slam and left him lying in the ring. Otunga then stood triumphant over Sheamus, implying that the situation might have been orchestrated by Punk.

Santino Marella vs. Alberto Del Rio

Del Rio said Santino thought he’d nearly bested him at the Royal Rumble, but it was Del Rio’s destiny to win. The match began with Santino on the attack. Del Rio kneed him in the gut and tried a splash but Santino dodged it, causing Del Rio to fall out of the ring. Santino tossed him back in, but Del Rio gained offense from there. He worked Santino’s arm. Santino hiptossed Del Rio and signaled for the Cobra but missed. Del Rio locked in the cross-arm breaker and won by submission.

Vickie Guerrero and Dolph Ziggler

Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero came to the ring. Vickie said Ziggler would be the new World Heavyweight Champion before Elimination Chamber because he would beat Edge on Smackdown. Before she could say more, John Cena came to the ring. Cena said he was there to put a stop to this.

He apologized for R-Truth’s blunder and said he’d “celebrated” too much and thought he was still in Green Bay. Vickie scolded Cena and the fans for not showing them respect and threatened to leave. Cena led them in a chant to get Guerrero and Ziggler to leave.

CM Punk vs. John Cena

Cena addressed Nexus’s attacks on the Elimination Chamber contenders. He said he was still there, and knew Nexus would get involved, but he would enter the Chamber in one piece. When the match started Punk and Cena locked up. Punk got the advantage with kicks and hits but Cena clotheslined him. Punk knee-dropped and back-dropped Cena. Punk missed a charge in the corner and Cena gave him a bulldog. Punk hit Cena with a flying clothesline and a knee to the face, followed by another bulldog.

Punk went for the GTS but Cena wriggled out and hit Punk with a flurry of punches. He then hit Punk with a low blow and got himself disqualified, making Punk the winner. The rest of Nexus rushed to the ring, and Jerry Lawler handed Cena a chair to even the odds. Cena hit Otunga and McGillicutty with the chair and they left the ring. Cena stood triumphant while Nexus lay scattered on the floor.
