Finally, The Rock Has Come Back To Monday Night Raw

Finally, the Rock made his first re-debut in a WWE ring in 7 years. And what a debut it was. The WWE perfectly booked this from the get-go, all starting with Vince McMahon hyping up a Wrestlemania Guest Host. The hypotheses and speculations all stirred up from all wrestling fans, trying to guess who it might be. Of course the Rock’s name was thrown out there, but him being it seemed too far-fetched. Many people thought it would be Justin Bieber since the WWE is marketing towards kids these days and Bieber is the most popular kids person in the world.

The WWE hyped it up so big on Raw, though, by talking about it and allowing it to close the show that they either had to deliver something big or fail big time. They did an outstanding job in making everyone eager to see who it was by teasing the fans with false entrances, lights going out, and all the other shanniegons they did.

And then the Rock finally came back to Raw in 7 years with fashon by delivering the best promos in at least five years (about the same time WWE started scripting everyone’s promos). The Rock did everything as perfect as you can possibly do in a promo. His timing and pacing were spot-on. His mannerisms and facial expressions were top-notch. He worked in his catch-phrases, which were also perfectly timed. And most importantly, he had everyone on their edge of their seat, listening to every word that came out of his mouth. He had the crowd right in his left pocket and rolled with it like the promo-master he truly is.

On the flip side of this awesome promo, it went to show how watered down and lame WWE promos have become. The Rock delivered a great unscripted promo, proving that they are head and shoulders better than scripted. It’s something, wait… no, it is something WWE MUST change as soon as possible unless they prefer contrived promos that make the crowd appear half-dead than energetic promos that keep the crowd on their toes.

Nonetheless, it was a great moment to see and also another great moment to see the Rock cut a 20 minute promo with no strings attached. Wherever this might lead, for the good or bad, this will be a night forever remembered. A night where not only did we get a big surprise and then see the Rock back in a WWE right, but also a night where the Rock took the limelight for quite possibly the last time in Raw history.
