Kofi Kingston and Dolph Ziggler had a rematch at WWE Night of Champions on September 19 2010. Kingston and Ziggler had been feuding for several weeks. Kingston had come close to winning Ziggler’s Intercontinental Championship but Ziggler’s manager and girlfriend Vickie Guerrero continually interfered with their matches, including their match at SummerSlam 2010, to ensure that Ziggler would win.

Kofi Kingston and Dolph Ziggler Feud

Kofi Kingston faced Dolph Ziggler in numerous matches on Smackdown after their SummerSlam bout but each time, he lost to Ziggler. Smackdown General Manager Teddy Long declared that if Dolph Ziggler tried to get counted out or disqualified during his match with Kofi Kingston at Night of Champions, Kingston would win the Intercontinental title.

The match between Kingston and Ziggler started off with a lockup, and the two traded kicks. Kingston threw Ziggler outside the ring. Season Three NXT rookie Kaitlyn went to check on Ziggler, but Vickie Guerrero told her to leave. Ziggler was nearly counted out but managed to get back in the ring in time.

Kingston knocked Ziggler down with a dropkick but Ziggler dodged a charge to the corner and gave Kofi a neckbreaker and a chinlock. Kingston fought out and knocked Ziggler down but Ziggler kicked him in the face and got a near-fall. Ziggler landed an elbow drop and went for a pin but Kofi kicked out. Ziggler then got Kingston in a submission hold that he switched into a chinlock. Dolph went for multiple pins but Kofi kept kicking out.

Kingston made a brief comeback but Ziggler gave him a leg drop and put Kingston in a headlock. He followed up with an elbow drop from the top rope and went for a pin but Kingston kicked out and fought back. The two traded blows and Kingston nailed him in the face with a kick. He followed up with a crossbody and hit Ziggler with a dropkick. Kingston hit Ziggler with a Thesz press and the Boom Drop.

Kingston missed Trouble in Paradise and Ziggler missed a sleeperhold. Kingston tried for a pin but Ziggler put his foot on the ropes. Ziggler rolled outside the ring. Kingston followed and hit him with punches and a bodyslam. Kingston tried for a pin but Ziggler kicked out.

Dolph Ziggler Defeats Kofi Kingston at Night of Champions 2010

Ziggler locked in a sleeperhold on Kingston but Kingston countered with a sleeperhold of his own. Vickie Guerrero tried to slap Kingston but Ziggler told her not to so he wouldn’t be disqualified. Kingston missed Trouble in Paradise. Ziggler gave him the Zig Zag and pinned Kingston for the win. Dolph Ziggler remains Intercontinental Champion.
